Banana Palm flower & fruit -
Musa paradisica sapientum

Inked in six colours on one plate with hand finished
details, this complex & dramatic sibject has a fascinating history.
Early herbalists called it Adam's Apple, because of the belief
in Syria & Palestine that this was the fruit from which Adam was tempted.
The specific name paradisica referes to "Paradise" or the
Garden of Eden. It has been suggested that Banana leaves, not Fig
leaves,formed the first garments.
